When an individual has chosen a property to purchase in Monaco the process involves instructing one of the three Monaco notaries to act on his/her behalf as only a Monaco notary may transfer title to Monaco-sited real estate.

Once a purchase price is agreed, the process generally then involves having a notarial contract signed and a deposit paid to the notary, pending the balance being paid and signature of the final completion date before the notary.

Notarial fees and registration duties are due on completion by the purchaser, the standard rate being 6% in total. This rate can be higher where certain purchase vehicles are used.
