Savills sponsors TEDxMonteCarlo

15 December 2016

Savills Monaco was delighted to sponsor the first TEDxMonteCarlo event to be held in Monaco. The event took place on 26th November and [r]EVOLUTION was the theme. A diverse set of speakers focused on the speed of innovation in engineering, technology, design and the arts, looking at the critical issues that govern today’s decisions.

All of the thirteen speakers were truly inspiring, each expert in their field. Françoise Meunier, cancer expert, talked about life after cancer and changes needed to allow survivors access to everyday necessities such as health insurance. Alejandro Agag, CEO of Formula E Holdings which ( appropriately for Monaco) organises electric car championships, spoke about the need to break the speed of light. Marc Vella, nomad pianist, composer and writer, inspired with words about false notes  being what makes the imperfect perfect. And Jenke Ahmed Tailly, fashion editor and stylist to Beyoncé, talked of the importance of diversity in fashion and why fashion is not about clothes but about dreams.

At the heart of TEDxMonteCarlo was the desire to host a community project- an interesting concept perhaps in Monaco, a place renowned for its glamour possibly rather than for its community spirit. Savills Monaco was truly happy to see that  the event was sold out, with 400 in the auditorium (and a waiting list of over 100)  ready to spend an intense Saturday afternoon listening to 13 18 minute long speeches….

Congratulations  to the organisers and  we look forward to next year’s event!
